Woking's household waste and recycling centre is run by Surrey County Council and is on Martyrs Lane, Woking, GU21 5NJ.
Opening hours
The centre is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4pm. Hours can change on bank holidays, so it is worth checking the Surrey County Council website before travelling.
What you can recycle
The site accepts a wide range of household materials, including:
- Batteries, electrical items, fridges and freezers, and TVs and monitors
- Cardboard, mixed paper, and cartons
- Food and drink cans, foil, and metal
- Mixed glass and bottles, and hard and soft plastic
- Garden waste, wood and timber, and hardcore and rubble
- Furniture, mattresses, carpet, and textiles
- Paint, household and garden chemicals, cooking oil, and used engine oil
- Fluorescent tubes, gas bottles, printer cartridges, mobile phones, and spectacles
Some items, such as tyres, may carry a charge, and there are limits on non-household waste like rubble and plasterboard, which may require a permit or payment under Surrey's rules.
